A big welcome bonus looks generous on the banner, but the real value is in the terms. This guide explains the parts that matter, so you can tell a genuinely good offer from one that is almost impossible to turn into withdrawable cash.

What a matched bonus means

A “100% up to 200” bonus means the site matches your deposit up to that cap. Deposit 100 and you get 100 in bonus funds, for 200 to play with. The match rate and the cap are the two numbers to read first, but they are not what decides whether the bonus is worth taking.

Wagering requirements, explained

This is the number that matters most. A “35x wagering” requirement means you have to bet the bonus 35 times before you can withdraw. On a 100 bonus at 35x, that is 3,500 in total bets. Lower is better: around 6x is easy, 35x to 50x is hard, and anything above that is close to unclearable for a casual player.

Deposit plus bonus, or bonus only

Read whether the wagering applies to the bonus alone or to the deposit and bonus together. “35x (D+B)” is much steeper than “35x (B)”, because you are also turning over your own deposit. The same headline number can mean very different things.

Free bets are different

A free bet is not cash. If you place a 10 free bet and it wins, you usually receive the winnings only, not the 10 stake back. So a 10 free bet at odds of 2.00 returns 10, not 20. Useful, but worth less than it first appears.
